Fall Is Blooming Bright at the Dallas Arboretum
The gardens are vibrant with fall color at the Dallas Arboretum. November is a unique time here; cooler nights actually tend to bring out a great deal of verdant life as the garden gets ready for winter – flower and leaves in bright greens, blues, and purples, plus traditional fall oranges and yellows, splash across your view wherever you look.
Coupled with the final weeks of Autumn at the Arboretum, which fills the gardens with 90,000 pumpkins, squash and gourds, this rich, fall growth creates a dynamic, thrilling visual aesthetic that surprises many guests.
What’s in Bloom at the Dallas Arboretum in November
VP of Gardens Dave Forehand reminds us that (in the image above, in clockwise order) cuphea, Marigolds, alyssum, pansies, ginger and rudbeckia are among the flowers that pop up in our gardens this time of year.
Our late fall roses are in full bloom in the Rosemary Hagger Rose Garden. These classic Hybrid Tea roses have a marvelous, sweet fragrance.
Here, the marigolds that light up much of the garden in the fall are are a great contrast to this beautiful, tropical purple foliage – and in the background you can see the same Rosemary Hagger Rose Garden, surrounded by healthy greenery on all sides.
We’re always happy to surprise people with the fact that the Dallas Arboretum’s gardens remain lush and alive year-round, thanks in no small part to our unbeatable horticulture team and their work keeping all the beds planted with the right plants for every season.
