The Return of the Most Beautiful Blog in Dallas
We are incredibly excited to relaunch the Dallas Arboretum blog today, kicking off our ramp up to what looks to be a truly amazing fall-winter season here. This blog will give you weekly insight into everything interesting at the Arboretum, and it’s our chance to dig a bit deeper, share a bit more, and frankly, get a bit nerdier and excited about all the amazing things we’re working on to exceed your expectations.
Every Monday, you’ll hear from one of our experts from the horticulture, education and events teams. Vice President of Gardens Dave Forehand will offer some of his absolute favorite tips and stories, based on a lifetime of loving and studying all things botanical.
Our talented educators will share lessons learned from working with over 100,000 children a year in this unique classroom. The professionals managing the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden will share lessons and activities that you can use to activate the adventure of learning in your aspiring scientists, both at home and in the gardens.
Our absolutely unparalleled horticulture team will pull back the curtain to explain what makes this world-class display garden tick, teaching you a few things in the process and hopefully getting you excited to come enjoy our natural beauty.
And the creative minds who design our show-stopping festivals every season will get you better acquainted with what’s coming up at the Arboretum, starting with a look at the two big upcoming dates on our calendar, Autumn at the Arboretum and the grand opening of A Tasteful Place.
Autumn at the Arboretum kicks off September 23 You’ll know for sure you’re not in Kansas anymore when you experience the Pumpkin Village, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, featuring over 90,000 pumpkins, squashes, and gourds (oh my!). Then, we’re launching our innovative fruit, vegetable and herb garden, A Tasteful Place, on October 3. It features some of the most beautiful edible plants you’ve ever seen, cooking classes and demonstrations led by some of DFW’s favorite chefs and food personalities, tastings and a stunning view of downtown over White Rock Lake.
Of course, the inside scoop at the Dallas Arboretum wouldn’t be complete without the breathtaking visuals you’ve come to expect from us, so we’ll be sure every post is full of stunning, beautiful, interesting photos and videos to make you feel like you’re here.
