Springtime at the Children’s Adventure Garden
With the dawn of spring comes the thirst for outdoor adventure! If you have kids, finding a place for them to unleash their pent-up energy that’s enjoyable for the entire family can be quite a conundrum. Let the Dallas Arboretum’s Children’s Adventure Garden come to your rescue! The Arboretum has beaucoup activities planned this season, so let the springtime adventure begin!
Foster your child’s love of all things literary at story time at the Moody Oasis. The Little Adventure Activities, will surely use up some of your little one’s extra springtime energy. If that’s not enough, take a Walk on the Wildside, traverse the switchbacks and follow tracks left behind by friends.
If your little one’s interests are more culinary than literary, make sure you stop by the Children’s Adventure Garden for the Incredible Edible You Are What You Eat presentation. There, they’ll learn about edible plants, flowers and more. It may even get your kids excited about salads and the super food kale!
Visit the Exploration Center and go on an adventure and travel like a seed. We’ll float, fly, and get carried away like a Seed on the Move lab. After that, make sure you’re at the OmniGlobe Theater at 2:30PM weekdays for some super-fun shows that will entertain as well as educate. The lineup includes a wide array of topics such as “Out of This World,” “Shakin’ and Quakin’ in My Boots,” “Pangea,” “Quest for Life in Our Solar System” and “Hurricanes, Tsunamis and Typhoons.”
If you have a child who is 8 to 14 years old, he/she could have the opportunity to select next year’s adventures! The Arboretum’s Adventure Ambassadors Program offers children who love connecting with nature the opportunity to develop their leadership skills while participating in Arboretum activities and engaging with the community. Find out more about the program here.
And the Arboretum’s got even more adventures planned—you just have to stop by and experience them all yourself!
Mark your calendar for Earth Day Celebration on April 18.
Before you set out for the Dallas Arboretum, remember to purchase your parking online. You save money, $8 versus $15, and you have the opportunity to park in our new parking garage, which is much closer to the Children’s Garden than the main lot. That way you and your family can save your energy for all those exciting activities!
