Learn something new at the Dallas Arboretum
Learning shouldn’t stop just because you graduate. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens’ Adult Education classes have been enlightening North Texans for more than 15 years, and they make the perfect gift for your favorite grownups this holiday, too! Topics range from transforming nature into décor and inspiring holiday cheer with the magic of glass to bonding with your other half through photography. No matter what subject you choose, celebrate the season by learning something new!
11/14 – Concrete Leaf Casting
Learn how to transform leaves into beautiful accents for your landscape using paint for just the right amount of embellishment.
12/10 – Couples Holiday Photo Workshop
What makes a holiday card stand out from the rest? The photo, of course! Not only will each couple will have a professional portrait taken by their instructors for that perfect holiday card, but they’ll also learn how to master camera settings and compose portraits of each other in the Arboretum.
12/12 – Glass on Glass Mosaic, the Colors of Christmas
Let the beauty of the holidays inspire you as you create a glass-on-glass mosaic piece that makes a thoughtful gift or treasured keepsake. Class attendees will get to create a pattern and learn how to work with the various types of glass, as well as how to assemble and grout their creation.
12/12 – Eco-Printing on Silk
Transform seasonal finds into a stunning silk scarf using leaves from the garden. Attendees will learn the process of eco-printing and will get to experiment with various bark, leaf and flower patterns.
